# What are Bolts?

### 🎮 StrikeBit’s Engagement Layer, Gamified

**Bolts** are StrikeBit’s native **non-transferable engagement points**, designed to reward users for meaningful activity across the ecosystem — without inflating token supply or relying on passive farming.

Unlike standard “XP” or “off-chain points,” Bolts are **on-chain, reputation-bound, and utility-driven.** They are used to track progress, unlock upgrades, and gate access to special StrikeBit experiences and agent privileges.

### 🔹 Why Bolts?

Most ecosystems struggle with aligning **user actions** and **protocol growth**.\
StrikeBit fixes this by making Bolts the backbone of a **SocialFi + AgentFi reputation layer**.

They’re:

* **Non-transferable:** You earn them, not buy them
* **Upgradeable:** Higher Bolt levels unlock access to better rewards
* **Modular:** Bolts integrate with prediction games, agent actions, NFT upgrades, and more
